From the manual it say e25rlcn. Any idea of a year of range of years
it could be. Where is the serial number located on the motor. Thanks
Mike

1982;

Model years are indicated by last two letters of model number. Digits are
matched with the letters of the word "introduces" with I=1, N=2 ... E= 9,
S=0 CN = 82

The first letter E means Evinrude (J=Johnson). I don't know what the RL
means - probably either some features (e.g electric vs. pull start?) of the
engine and/or where it was built.

In my experience, the model number (the number you posted) is more important
than the serial number for getting parts, specs, etc. I don't know where to
find either on your 25. Sometimes, there's a tag on the exterior (e.g. leg
or obvious inside the cowling. Sometimes you have to scrutinize the
powerhead.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

R = rope start (vs E= electric)
L= long shaft (20 inch) vs 15 inch shaft which would be indicated by
"nothing"

Example

short E25RCN

long E25RLCN

long electric start E25ELCN
