With sustained winds of 50 mph and gusts of 65 mph last night, the water
level on Lake Erie dropped 5 feet at Toledo (west end) and rose 10 feet at
Buffalo.

I know these were only tropical level winds but they kept me up much of the
night.

I can only imagine what folks sitting through even a level 1 hurricane go
through.

It's kind of scary. I experienced four of them my first year in CFL. Natives
said they hadn't seen a hurricane since the 80s. Eisboch has some good
stories of South Fl. hurricanes.
