Looks like it's Halifax's turn to be hit by a hurricane.
We expect 'Juan' to slam into this city tomorrow evening.
http://www.ns.ec.gc.ca/weather/hurricane/cbulletin.html

Just got back from a sail and the swells were certainly picking up.
Strangly...the wind seem to have died at this moment but
stay tuned.......
We doubled all the lines on the Mirage 33 we sail on and earlier this week I
was up on my house roof slapping down tar and caulking windows to correct a
small leak noticed after a previous storm.
My house is on the 2nd highest elevation on the peninsula after 'Citadel
Hill'. so flooding shouldn't be a concern, although we
have lots of mature trees all around which will guarantee power outages.
Tonight I'm off to my sister's 'Skybox' at the local hockey arena to watch
our team take on a Quebec team.
Tomorrow will come soon enough.

Truly, the calm before the storm. We've certainly had our share of
hurricanes, here, and before each there is an eerie calmness... wind,
sounds, absence of wildlife....etc...

Hang in there and respect Mother Nature....
