Howdy,

I took an 8 horse engine out for three hours in the
salt water. I hooked it up to a drum of fresh water
but can't seem to get a steady stream of water to
come out of the cooling duct. Instead i get a dribble.

Am I doing something wrong on the maintenance
of this brand new motor (less than 20 hours)? It's
a Yamaha?

Probably a blockage in the pee hole. How much water flows out when you have
the wash hose connector hooked up? You can also pull the hose off the pee
hole and see if there is good flow. Otherwise maybe a bad impeller.

I don't think there is a hose hook-up for it (motor is 125 miles
away in storage) I'll re-read the owners manual for other stuff.
thanks.

My T-8 has a hose hookup. Is a 2002 motor. Hose connects to a bracket up
by the front of the motor. The bracket is just a block to the hose
connector that is screwed on when running normal.
