My insurer keeps trying to get me to crank up my towing, and, instead,
we are thinking of going to a lower level. Right now we have
"unlimited" per incident towing and are thinking of dropping it to $500.
We cruise in the Gulf Islands when we go north, and have once gone to
Desolation and may do again, but that's pretty much it.

I'd be interested in knowing what BC boaters regard as prudent and
practical.

Thanks,

Chuck Bollinger

Having only been towed once in over 40 years, I wouldn't want to pay
for any extra towing coverage beyond what is included in my current
insurance policy. (When I was towed, it cost $100 across Vancouver
Harbour - I didn't even think about making an insurance claim.)

The included towing coverage on my policy is $500, with a $50
deductible.
