Post subject: superjet drive shaft interchange

Will a drive shaft from a 92 superjet hold up in a 97 superjet? I ask
this question because the rear of the 92 drive shaft, between the
impeller and the tail cone is hollow where as in the 97 drive shaft,
it is solid. Why did Yamaha make the change? Other than that
difference, everything seems to fit interchangably.
