Post subject: small sailboat design question.
Archived from groups: rec>boats>building (more info?)

Many years ago 1960's or 1970's there was a sailboat and plans in one
of the do it your self magizines like PS, or PM or mechanix ill. I can
not remember.
the base shape was simular to the summer breeze sail boat or more like a
lazer sail boat.

but the boat was around 12' long and the top and bottom skin was
idenical size and shape.
the sides were made from 12" wide plywood the whole length of the boat.

the topskin was offset from the bottom forward so the sides made a v
shaped hull forward
and rolled vertical maybe 2/3s of the way back and then rolled over the
top a small amount.

so the transom was tilted forward at the top.

does anyone remimber the boat, article, magizine, year, or anything
about this design?

thanks
jerry

I have no idea about the boat you're looking for, but check out the
following for some free plans.

Hi Jerry,

Sounds like the Stevenson Projects Minicup - see
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.stevproj.com/FastSailrs.html" target="_blank">http://www.stevproj.com/FastSailrs.html</a>

Plans are a free download from the site.

I've got one 2/3 built in my shed at home, if you've got any
questions.

Several others have built and are sailing same - google for Stevenson
Minicup

Regards,

bookieb
