Hello:
I just took my 2001 9.9 HP OB in for service. I really had no time or
proper area to do the work myself. The oil in the crankcase was changed, as
well as the leg, plug the plug was change. The bill was lust a hair under
$300.00, almost $100 more that what I paid the last time for the SAME
SERVICE. Btw, I live in greater Vancouver.

Did I just get hosed? I know I did, I just want confirmation before go bang
my head against the wall.

While I was buying odds & ends for my 'new to me' Evinrude 6 hp Yachtwin, I
asked the guy how much to have it checked over, including charging system...
he said $ 70.00. Not sure if this included lubricant for lower end.

I think it's that Vancouver is just pricey ...
In the spring, I had my motor - 1989 6hp Suzuki 2 stroke serviced
- oil
- new impeller & gasket - lower end removed (obviously) and cleaned &
greased
- cleaned up
- charger circuit cables replaced (manual calls it a lighting circuit)
- in water testing, and 2 day turn-around (in Monday morning out Wednesday
morning)
$60 by cheque
I went to a someone that was recommended by friends.
