If it's oversize, and every state and province has its own limits, you
will need permits. I have done this a lot and always carry proof of
ownership and insurance, but have never been asked to display them to
antone.

Boat drivers licence - I live on the West Coast. I was just given a 13'11" Aluminum boat for free. Do I need a special licence to operate it on the ocean with a 9.5 horse motor, or do I just use my fishing licence?
