The repair shop says I have a bent impeller and the repair will cost
$700 for parts and labor. This is for a Sea-doo 2000 GTX-RFI. That's an
awful lot of money on my budget right now so I just bought a solas
impeller, impeller removal tool, and repair manual online.

Am I out of my mind or smart? I am mechanically inclinded but never
really touched my sea-doo since this is the first repair I have had to
make. Any good advice?

It would be cheaper to remove the impeller and have it reapaired at
Impros.

They do an excellent job, however.......the turn around time for their
work has been very poor latley............

Also. install a new wear ring and rear o'ring to keep everything water
tight.

Wear rings are about 35.00 and o'rings are about 3.00.

Your manual tells you how to replace these items..............

Yikes! A new OEM impellor would be somewhere around 300 I think...and
Impros (impros.com) or Island Racing on the east coast
(islandracing.net), repairs them as good as new for well under $100
usually.
