Dave, my 93 sl650 has a rubber hand pump primer bulb in the fuel line,
can I replace it with this pump, or or place the primer pump in
parallell to it? thanks

You can get rid of your choke all together with a primer kit. It does
involve removing the carbs and using a dremel tool to cut the back of
the screws on the chokes so that the shafts can be removed. ( you dont
want the metal shavings falling into the engine) You would remove your
primer bulb and install the T-fitting in its place. By using a primer,
you are putting raw fuel directly down the throat of the carb which
allows the engine to crank immediately saving wear and tear on your
starter and battery.
