Post subject: A list of failures longer than a list of accomplishments...

1. Graduated fifth from the bottom in his Naval Academy class;
2. Got himself shot down and captured in the war;
3. Served a full career in the Navy but never matched either his
grandfather or father who both achieved the rank of admiral;
4. survived a failed marriage caused by his own cheating;
5. According to his official congressional listing has had only one
private sector job, that of “beer distributor;
6. Lost to George Bush in the Republican primaries during which, when
asked why he wanted to be president, could only respond, “It’s always
been my ambition.”

Unremarkable early military career
Was an unsuccessful store owner, basically went bankrupt.
Was called by his military contempories "butcher and murderer".
Was known to be an alcoholic

AKA US Grant, who became president.

If you like McCain, I wouldn't be bringing up Grant. While Grant,
himself, might have been clean, there was considerable corruption in his
administration, oh, and allegations of anti-semitism.
