Post subject: boating and fishing Fri & Sat.
Archived from groups: rec>boats (more info?)

Went to a foothill lake Friday for a get together with some friends.
Fishing and drinking Friday evening. Since I was staying the night, did not
get going that early on Friday. after stopping to get a new Down Rigger
ball, one is missing, I get to the lake, and set up camp, and go fish for a
couple of hours. Caught a released a nice holdover trout. Maybe 2#. After
a 1/2 bottle of a good California Cab Friday evening and fried porkchop with
fried potato(e)s and onions. Hit the camper for a nice nights sleep. About
7am is raining hard, so close eyes and go back to sleep. Get up and have
some sausage gravy and potato(e)s for breakfast (wife is not on trip, so can
eat fried foods). Hit the lake for some fishing and boating. Kept one
trout, that got banged up in the catching and landing. Do not particularly
like to eat trout. Ran up the river and used the ability of the jetboat to
go over the log boom at the river head to go up and explore. Dropped over
the boom, into a huge bunch of driftwood. Got someing stuck in either the
grate of the pump, so only managed 22 mph, so aborted exploration into
forbidden areas. Great 2 days.
