How many hp would it take to push an aluminum hull 31' long by 12' wide with
a 9 degree deadrise weighing 15000 lbs approx 35 mph with a sterndrive. I
know there are many variables but I just want a ballpark idea. Would 300 hp
do it or would you need 1000hp.

I reckon it would take 1155 HP plus or minus 1.2 HP.

You could probably get to hull speed (I know, I know) with 30hp.
Planing would probably take more like 375hp than 300. 35 MPH could
very well take even more than that. Just a WAG, though. Have you
thought about a nice 15-foot sailing dinghy?

The well proven Crouch formula shows 550 HP.
