i have just become the proud owner of two 96 gtx waverunners. I have
a couple questions for all you experienced ones. Both waverunners run
great, but one of them will sometimes out of the blue start sputtering
and my rpms will drop to under 4000 and if i try and take it above
that mark it'll start sputtering again, it feels like its outta gas,
but then in a minute it'll all clear up and will run perfect, from
searching through these posts i thought it might be the rave valve, am
i wrong here? where can i find info on how to clean or replace these
things? thanx for any help.

Here's a link for the Rave vales. I would advise cleaning the fuel filter
and replacing the plugs. I have a 96 GTX as well.

likely you gotcha a faulty rectifier. they like to die, and in the case
of the 787's, they'll do so in a manner that you've described. it's a 45
dollar part, in your grey box. the silver thing with the circuitry
under the clear green goo.

and the like... conjurs up frankenstein images !)
