Where did everyone go?

It seems that back in 1997 there were a whole lot of participants in
this forum. In one thread on good racing dinghys there were posts from
designers (Bob Ames, Vanguard 15), racers and all sorts of people.

Is there a replacement for rec.boats.racing out there on the 'net
somewhere that has an equal volume of posts or has online interest
either faded or splintered into specific subgroups? For example, it
seems most dinghy racers are only on the specific email lists, like the
505 list, Laser etc.

many sites have formed and some of it may have moved to specicic venues.
