Starts fine and ticks over. Very responsive to throttle and sounds like
plenty of power but as soon as it goes in gear it dies straight away.
Only thing done to it prior to this was to the bottom end gear shift and fit
a new plastic throttle actuator.
Have tried fuel tank & fuel mix - new plugs - cleaned carbs and fitted new
fuel filter.
Anybody any ideas?

Mick

Still sounds like there is muck in the carb, or the diaphragm in the pump
has stretched.

After changing the electronic ignition circuitry from old spares engine the
son found it was just the idle jet adjustment. Gave them about half a turn
and it burst into life. He took the boat (19ft fletcher fisher sports) and
it ran at 28 knots flat out.
Thanks - Mick
