Whitewater Park
Emergency Fund Raiser
August 9th, 2003, 2PM till late evening
Palisade Community Center
The whitewater park on the Colorado River at the Price-Stubb Dam
http://home.mesastate.edu/~jerry/guide/price-stubb/price-stubb.html in
Palisade, Colorado, is suddenly becoming a reality. All involved
organizations are
now in agreement: Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Fish & Wildlife, Riverfront
Foundation, the land owner at the dam, and boaters. It is now up to the
boaters to raise some money to pay for the design of the park. Come to
the fundraiser for music, food, games, silent auction, and information on
a park that will have whitewater all year around. The design calls for
safe boat passage for beginners, intermediate, and expert on this eight
foot drop. Construction is scheduled for winter of 2004-05. Palisade
Community Center is located at Hwy6 and Main Street in Palisade,
Colorado. For more information phone Monica or Pete at Whitewater
West. (970) 241-0441 (This is an "Emergency Fund Raiser" because we have
a short time to raise a hefty chunk of money.)
