OLN has been showing the Volvo Ocean race on cable. While the coverage has
been brief (1/2 hour segments), it showed the racing. That is, right up
until the 'Round the Islands' leg from Portsmouth to Rotterdam. That 1/2
hour segment ended with the boats off northern Scotland, becalmed and out of
food!

What happened?

I don't think they were `out of food' - just `low on food'

Half the fleet went inshore, picked up the wind and took off. The other
bunch got left behind a bit, but made it to Rotterdam some hours behind.
