Last fishing trip pf the year. Beautiful day with light ne winds, seas 1 to 2
feet. Got out the inlet as the sun was coming up. Fished two rods down and 2 on
top trolling split tail mullet and ballyhoo.. Caught 18 lb wahoo and 8 lb
dolphin. Missed one other dolphin. We were back in the inlet by 8 a.m. and
should have quit then but we picked up a dozen live goggle eyes and headed back
out to try for a sailfish. We both knew the weather was too nice for sails but
felt a little cocky after the good start. Well, 4 hours later and after having
lost 2 baits to hungry sharks we gave up and came in to prepare for New Years
Eve.

Happy New Year to all,

Barry

You have to be fishing down south - Keys maybe?

It's been great up here in the river systems - the Thames River has
been holding a huge population of over-winter stripers and I hit 27
schoolies yesterday. Hell, there are even stripers in the Yantic
River which has never happened during the winter months.

And the weather through next Wendsday will be in the low 50's which
means I can still keep going!!!! :>) The winter has been so mild,
that there isn't any ice on the bigger lakes (larger heat sink) and
the surface temps are close to 40 deg F. I've been tempted to uncover
my Ranger and do some sweet water fishing.

In January!!

Beats winter fishing the Thames during a snow storm I'll tell you
what. :>)

Later,

Ah, nice place to live. I'll be in Fort Lauderdale for a cruise next
week to the carribean. Keep the weather there warm for next week
please!
Someday...I'd like to retire to the Tampa area.
