Okay, what is a fuel baffle and what would the symptoms on my
Waverunner be if that part had gone bad?

Thanks,
Lauramander

The fuel baffle is part of the fuel pickup system in the carb'd fuel tanks
and looks like a little door. It tends to warp blocking the reserve pickup
line causing poor performance especially when fuel pickup switch is in the
reserve position.

The fuel baffle is also known as a fuel sending unit (that's what its
called on your car or truck), it allows your fuel gauge to display how
much fuel you have left in the tank.

As for what a bad one does, you won't know how much fuel you have, and
if the clamps on the hoses aren't tight, it will allow air to get into
the fuel system thus making the engine starve for fuel.

Hope that helps you out.
