Post subject: Strike changes Rideau trip to Erie Canal
Archived from groups: can>rec>boating (more info?)

I've been following the strike and don't think I can afford to chance
the delays on the Lachine, Ottawa and Rideau. Think I will now try to
launch in the Erie Canal near Rochester and boat to Oswego. Then to
Clayton and Alexandria Bay. Then can go to Rockport, Gananoque, and
Kingston. Stop at Kingston Mills to say hello then back to Oswego.
Then Sodus Bay and finish trip at Rochester. Looks like about 10 miles
back overland to tow rig. Would like to do the Bay of Quinte to
Trenton then straight south across the lake but not sure if I'm up to
that. Dan
