The reception on my vhf suffers when I have the fishfinder/sounder
turned on. There is some static and the quality of reception is much
worse than normal. There is no problem when the chartplotter or radar is
running, just the sounder. All electronics are in close proximity to the
radio. Any ideas or suggestions,
Thanks

Add Power Filtering on both the VHF and Sounder Power Leads, to eliminate
the common power wiring as the transmission source. Also make sure the
Power wires to both units, are big enough to handle the current required
to operate them. Voltage Drop due to wiring resistance is a prime cause
of unreliable operations. If that doesn't fix it, buy a better designed
VHF Radio, as the one you have is really poorly designed, to have this
problem.

Static on FM Radio - I've got excessive static on my FM radio, and discovered it's my battery charger. Obviously, I want to keep the charger going, but wonder if anyone knows how to suppress that noise. Also, my refrigerator works on my batteries, and my charger charges..

Equipment for Direct Satellite Image Reception - Does anyone here know what type of equipment is required for dierct reception of weather satelite images aboard your boat, recommended vendors, and where it can be purcased? Thanks in advance.

Combining multiple VHFs on single ant - I have a VHF installed in our cabin with only a remote speaker in cockpit. Instead of replacing the unit with a newer VHF with remote mic and/or station options, I would like to simply add another standard VHF radio at the helm and share the antenna..

2 VHFs sharing 1 VHF antenna - I have an Apelco VHF mounted in the nav station with a remote speaker in the cockpit. A Raymarine handheld is kept near the helm. Of course the handheld has nowhere near the range of the fixed VHF below. Instead of replacing the [perfectly good] Apleco..
