Did you see the new Simrad system on Panbo this AM? Looks very nice
although waaaay beyond my means or needs.

Yeah, but the "news" isn't so much the technical possibilities as it
seems to be just Nobeltec software with Simrad branded hardware; they
haven't suddenly started producing PC motherboards!

What's interesting IMO is that Jeppesen (Nobeltec's owner) bought C-Map
recently, so C-Map is now closely related to Nobeltec. And now Simrad
strengthens their ties with Jeppesen/Nobeltec...

Looks like a reaction to the all-in-one-hand total-brand strategy of
Raymarine to me...
