Archived from groups: rec>sport>jetski (more info?)

This weekend I was at the Colorado River when I noticed that my 98
GTX-Limited exhaust was smoking more than normal. After inspecting the
engine compartment I noticed the cable bracket on the oil pump assembly had
broken off. After that, I pulled it out of the water. Today, I checked my
parts manual and discovered that I will need to replace the entire oil pump
assembly just to make this repair. Can anyone tell me how many of my
favorite dollars can I expect to have to part with to have this oil pump
replaced by a shop (parts & labor) and/or how much parts & labor might cost
me if I decide to go with an Oil Injection Block-off Kit. Thanks for any
help you can give me on this matter.

Well I had to make a decision...... so since I only need the cable bracket
for my Sea Doo, I contacted a used jetski parts distributor and purchased a
used oil pump assemble for $25. I will keep my GTX-Limited original
(running as an oil injected 951 engine). Thanks anyways.
