Im not an expert in this area, but you would want to clamp off the cooling like
coming in from the pump. ( If you do this alot, i would splice the line and put
in a valve that you could shut off.. im assuming this wouldnt hurt waterflow
enough to do any damage.. anyone else?) You would probably also want to tow it
with something rigid so the polaris doesnt bash into the back of the boat if
you slow down quicker than the polaris. Something along the lines of two pieces
of rope covered by two pieces of pvc pipe set up in a big V. They used to sell
them in the catagalogs.. havent seen them in a while. Also, might not be a bad
idea to have an electric bilge set up to automatically pump out any water that
might get in while you are towing it. Thats all i can think of.. good luck.

I definitely WOULD NOT use a rig that is rigid. We towed a 20' CC
behind a 42' Sea Ray from the Bahamas. We slowly let out 50-75' of
towline, tied off and brought the boat on to a plane. Certainly rhe
length of the towline needs to accomodate potential short stops. I am
no expert on the manner in which to tow the ski although I use to see
a device in Overton's that was a plastic plate that the ski would sit
on so water wasnt being pushed into the pump area etc. I had always
heard that towing a ski ran a large risk of water flowing into the
engine without a way for it to exit as the ski isnt running.
I like the idea of a shutoff valve if it can be that straight-forward
I would consider such an option as long as the diameter of the valve
doesnt reduce the flow rate to a point of damage to the ski.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
