Sorry for the elementary question. My bro in law just acquired two Yamaha
GP 760s and neither of us know anything about them. He is asking if these
things take an oil/gas mixture, or just unleaded (with oil elsewhere).

Looking to find the answer in advance so we have what we need when we get
there (no gas stations within 1/2 hour of this lake).

Thanks
Nute

I'm not very familiar with that model of ski but, most likey there is
an oil tank under the seat somewhere close to the fuel tank. You of
course need to keep plenty of quality 2 stroke oil in the tank.
Yamalube is good oil and you can find a few other quality oils at
Wal-Mart like their Pennzoil synthetic 2 stroke oil. The presumes that
those are stock skis that have not had the oil injection system
disabled. If that has happened then you would need to pre-mix your oil
and gas before dumping into the tank. You probably really need to ask
someone locally who can look at the skis to make sure for you if you
can't figure it out. A local yamaha pwc dealer might help you if you
ask nicely and they'd be more likely to help if you bought some
Yamalube from them. You need to make sure the necessary safety
equipment is in the ski and also make sure the registration is current
and is supposed to be registered to who ever owns them.

The Gp760 should have an separate oil tank as it runs oil injection. You
should be able to see an oil cap inside the ski where you fill it up. On
the gp800 it is near the front of the engine bay just under the handle
bars. You should be able to see it when you take the seat off.
You can fill it with an TCW3 two stroke oil, it must be TCW3 rated,
normal motorcylce two stroke oil won't cut it. I prefer to use shell
nautilus over the yamaha TCW3 oil as it burns cleaner.

It is also possible that the oil injection has been removed. If they
have done this they might have taken the oil tank and pump out. This
means you will have to premix your fuel. A mix of 50 parts fuel (normal
unleaded) to 1 part oil (50:1 ratio) will be fine.
