Hi All

A new site user here in New Zealand
Been following this site for some time and watching the forums for a while I am amazed to see how you guys pass on your knowledge and help to your fellow boaties with yoru advice and info...

I have just embarked on my first project boat.. my wife thinks I'm totally crazy Rolling Eyes ..(could have bought one on the water she said Idea )
So here I am.. I have never owned a boat before let alone built, glassed, fitted ect.

So I'll be here for a while checking out the forums for advice and maybe asking for the odd bit of help here and there in the hope that somebody might be able to help me out when I stumble over.

Just to give you an idea of my project .. I have an Hartley Spearfish 12'6" - 3.81m
http://www.hartley-boats.com/spearf.html

My intention is to refit it as a Centre Console for Softbait, Jig/Spin fishing and to enable me to get out of my Kayak and out to the fishing spots for Snapper and Kingies in the limited time I get (2 kids and a wife)

Currently it has had extensive work on the Hull and extended to 4 metres, It has had more re-enforcing stringers put in, closed cells and a new transom, The hull has been re-plyed, glassed and 2 pot coated in Arctic Grey and the Interior is under fitout now .. its flat decked in marine play with centre console and plywood box seat .. basically the top half fit out to be completed... Plus engine mounting and rig up.

If I can work out how to get some pictures or a URL of it up I will.. as I know a picture paints a thousand words .. or if you are really interested I can mail you a picture or 2.

Look forward to reading further posts on here.. I have already gleaned some very useful information from you guys and of course I look forward to completing my project.. hopefully in time for next years fishing season Smile
