Big yikes, that's amazing.

I took a look at Lake Erie about an hour ago (midnight) and the waves
aren't all that high. It's very windy, but it's a South wind so the
near shore isn't too rough.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Enjoy yourself down there. We are now in a depression until about April
and the water won't really warm up until late June.

I love the Ohio seasons. July, August and Winter.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

In today's Detroit Free Press:

Water level at Toledo had been averaging 24" over datum. At height of storm,
the level had dropped to -72" from datum. About 8' change.
Buffalo expected to be +100"

Wow, that's quite a drop for Lake Erie. A couple of years ago during a
strong October wind, our marina level dropped 4 1/2 ft overnight in
Huron, Ohio.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I can remember a strong november storm of a couple of years ago. Bolles Harbor
where I keep my boat was bone dry, not a drop of water anywhere in the harbor
that was a drop of 12'. Any boats still in were sitting on the bottom. Waves
were reported to be 25' to 30' at the eastern Buffalo end of the lake. Yikes.

153 days to go..

What happens on the East side of Lake Erie (Buffalo area) when the SW winds
push that much water? Would the Upper Niagara River fill up and more volume
of water fall over the Falls? Then a less volume of water on average would
have to fall for a few days after that? Cool
