Is this a bad idea? Kicker is off and in neutral so prop spins and engine
doesn't.

O always know when I forgot mine down. Can not go real fast. I think it
would be a big strain on the bracket.

Is there a pressure oil system involved in the spinning parts? If so there
might be a lube issue but the manufacturer will be able to tell you how long
you can run like that.

I would imagine it would be like running a twin engine on just one engine,
depending on the equipment you're supposed to turn on the dragging engine
every x amount of hours just to get some lube going.

If no pressure lube system is involved I can't see how it could be a problem
.... but I'm no marine mechanic.

I don't know of any "major" problems with it, but there are a few
"minors":

a.) extra drag- If you've got lots of hp and fuel money; no big
deal.
b.) unecessary wear on the seals and lower drivetrain of the kicker.
Even though it's in neutral, wearable parts are in motion.

I wouldn't do it, but it's your call.

....carry on.
