I have a 89 Kawasaki JF650TS that I just can't get to idle or start 100% of
the time without major effort.

I've rebuilt the Carb, replaced the CDI (the original was dead) and replaced
all the fuel. I've been through the Clymer's service manual. At full
speed, it rocks.

It almost seems as if it isn't getting enough fuel to start with and
suffering from fuel starvation. The low speed jet is not plugged. If I
prime it by dropping some fuel down the cylinders, it will start just fine.
Once it is running from this exercise, it hesitates and may stall trying to
get to full speed.

I'm open to any ideas or thoughts.

Mike

ditch the choke and get a primer.

18.95 for the mikuni single carb kit.

It could also be the fuel petcock. Try moving the petcock from on to
reserve and see what happens.
