Post subject: Humming Bird Depth Sounder not working in shallows.

I recently bought a boat and I am having a problem with the Hummingbird in dash depth sounder. It seems to read good in the middle of the wake but as soon as I get into water less then 12 ft the reading goes blank. Any ideas?

Thanks!
