Cool! I've always wondered if that could be done, after seeing
bicyle child-trailers at a store.
What is the weight capacity of that trailer, do you know?
Could it carry two kayaks? >> Stay informed about: Homebrew Kayak Trailer for Bicycle |

you may find this video on bicycling/canowing interesting. I am
planning to install a bike rack into my canoe and solve the problem of
car shuttling this way.a 10 mile canoe trip is half a day adventure,
and a 10 mile bike ride back is nothing (~30 min?) >> Stay informed about: Homebrew Kayak Trailer for Bicycle |

It can be done as long as the trailer has a frame. I looked at a
bicycle trailer a guy had for sale, and rather than a frame it had a
plastic seat thing with wheels attached. Totally UNsuitable for
converting to a kayak or utility trailer.

I hope that you aren't planning to average 20 MPH for 10 miles pulling
a canoe! Maybe you're MUCH stronger than I am, but I still doubt that
you oculd manage that speed!
Also... I find it interesting that the setup in the video (thanks for
the link!) did manage to make the front piece separate from the rear
piece, effectively making the trailer much smaller. I'm surprised
that the tongue weight wasn't a problem too because I found that even
a small difference in position put far too much weight on the bike,
yet their wheels are way in the back. >> Stay informed about: Homebrew Kayak Trailer for Bicycle |

I seem to remember that they rated it at 100 lbs. I've seen a similar
setup where somebody made a trailer that had posts that they hung the
kayaks from and were able to stack them. I may have to find out some
day since I'm starting to hear rumors of two singles from my paddling
partner! >> Stay informed about: Homebrew Kayak Trailer for Bicycle |
