You don't have to, just filter out these ecolo-terrorists by subject
line. I encourage everyone else caring for this NG to do so.

Jean,
I used to enjoy this post, now I've been sucked into the toilet's vortex
and find myself getting annoyed enough that I won't stay silent.
In fact, I find myself caught up in doing the exact thing that I despise
about these off topic morons- engaging in battle! I can't help it... I feel
like I have to say something, but mostly I'd rather not. I'd rather discuss
what's relevant and enjoyable to us, the Canadian boaters, like the board of
not too long ago, and so would like to ask a question. How do I filter out
all this crap so I don't see it? That way I won't be tempted to retaliate
when a button is pushed.

regards
Bryan

How you do it depends on what browser you use. I see you use OE 6, so it's
pretty simple. Open a message you don't like, then create a rule by
clicking up top on:

Message|Create Rule from message

and then follow your nose. Straight Boolean logic, and if you make a
mistake it very politely tells you how to fix it. Easier than tying a
Sheepshank knot. Adjust the rule as you see the results.

I don't know which browser you use so here's for both major ones the location
of the message filter:

Netscape: Edit, message filter
Explorer: In Outlook, Tools, message rules, news

Then select to delete messages containing in the subject line the words you
don't want to see. My personal choice was "IFAW, seals, seal". I don't suggest
you filter by sender cause if I would have done that, I wouldn't have seen your
message! Wink

Explorer (Outlook) will apply the rule to all newsgroup except if you check to
apply only to a specified NG. Netscape apply the rule only to the NG you are in
when you select the filter.

If you have something else as newsreader, then you'll have to go thru the
various menus to find the message filter as I don't know them at all.

Hope this helps everyone tired of people respecting animals more than people.

I agree with Jean. Just don't dl all the posts. Eventually, the kids
get tired of getting no responses and go somewhere else. Happens all
over the place...
