Something to while away those Winter hours -- speculate on what a J
Class boat would look like if designed today, using modern materials
and knowledge. We're not talking about a copy of an existing design,
but a new design to the rating rules used for the 1937 America's Cup.

To get an idea of what a J boat looked like, go to
http://www.sy-ranger.com/

To get a copy of the reconstructed 1937 rating rules, go to
www.swcp.com/usvmyg/JContest.pdf
Corrections to these are welcome.

To pick up on the chatter: go to 2003ac.com -> forums -> design and
technology and work backward.

No big deal, just an attempt at a partial cure for cabin fever Smile

Cheers,

Earl
