Has anyone successfully built the floor for aluminum boat? Any web site that
teaches you how to do it?

I have a cheap basic 15' boat with benches, is it dangerous to get rid of
the benches? or should I just build the floor leaving the benches there? or
is it better to sell the boat and buy another one?

Any help or recommendation would be appreciated.

On my 12ft aluminum, the "benches" are part of the structure of the hull
(they hold the sides). I'd leave them, or provide alternative like ribs.
Try posting to rec.boats.building - they may have more insight there.

Besides you don't want the flotation low in the boat. It will float
upside down if it's swamped.
Flotation should go high in the boat.

Not only have I built a floor for an aluminum boat (1999 "Lund" SV-16), I
also added a casting platform, livewell, underseat storage, built-in battery
box, running lights etc. I did cut an 18" gap in the centre of the middle
bench to facilitate easier movment throughout the boat. As Lloyd mentioned
the benches are needed for structural integrity so I wouldn't recommend
removing them completely. I did remove the foam flotation from the benches
so I could use the empty cavity for storage but I did compensate for its
removal by adding foam under the floor. The whole project took me about 40
hours. If you would like pictures I'd be more than happy to send them to
you.

Don't use 3/4" plywood or it will be too heavy when finished.

"Crestliner" uses 3/4 inch plywood for its flooring. The reason I know this
is because I have removed a "Crestliner" floor to re-carpet it. 3/4 inch
plywood is fine. As to what effect it had on mine I'll never know as I did
the whole thing before I even put the boat in the water for the first time.
