I fished for a couple of hours yesterday (Saturday), using live minnows
and topwater plugs in a couple of creeks. Caught a few dink stripers on
the minnors and one blue on a topwater plug, that's all.
When we returned to the ramp, there were a few guys cleaning "hawg"
stripers. Not as many as usual, though.
You heading back up this way anytime soon?

Krause posted a reply. Have you killfiled him or have you forgot about your
recent whine:
"What does this mean? It means that the posters that I had kill filed for
refusing to post significantly on topic were now posting *exclusively* Off
Topic! They've finally reached the lowest of lows.... posting, polluting,
and
vandalizing a boating newsgroup when they have absolutely no expressed
interest
in boating.'
I bet you reply and show yourself to be a hypocrite. You have already
replied to a couple of his posts after you made the allegation I posted
above.  <!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Fishing.... |

No immediate plans to. I used to come up that way a couple of times of year,
when my Aunt lived in Lanham. Haven't really been that far North since I visited
the river going after that sheet metal brake. I have mentioned to the 'ole lady
that I'd like to visit the harbor and its attractions.....

Here, the charter captains are going nuts. Nothing is coming off of the pier.
Nobody is even bothering to try the surf. On Saturday there was a tournament
of 100+ boats and they netted 16 fish.
Worst dry spell I've seen in quite some time. Things were fine before Alex, but
it cut off the bites like a switch. Ought to be some hot fishing when these
little buggers get hungry again...

Fished Surf City in the surf on Sunday.
Caught 1 small whiting.
Buddy of mine caught a baby pompano and a couple infantile spots.
(they must have not listened to their parents)
I notice the game warden types can just come up and open up
your cooler without even asking these days.

Hope they were a lot over 18", because small stripers aren't worth keeping.

19 smallmouth on Lake Ontario Friday night, using very exotic bait: Worms
wrapped around the treble hook of a blue & silver Little Cleo spoon. And a
big-ass Northern Pike last night, right off the pier, using a 6" bright red
Rapala, ripped through the weed tops.
Fish perfer Democrats.

It's been pretty slow for me but I got a call from my son on Sunday.
Evidently the blues were in such a frenzy they were not only running the
bait fish up onto Scusset beach but they were running themselves up on
the sand also.
