I am thinking about hauling up my 25 foot Bennington pontoon boat to door
county, wi. I would not put it on the Michigan side, but rather in the green
bay area. Anyone familiar with these waters? Would this be suicidal or is
green bay semi calm? We just want to tool around the shore line, maybe go to
some of the islands around there.

Thanks!

Pontoon boats are inland lake boats......they have no place on the Great

There are at least 5 shops that rent pontoon boats on the green bay side. I
called, and they said that side is smoother than most inland lakes. The
michigan side is where you want to avoid them. Just FYI in case anyone
wonders. Still, I am just gonna rent one there instead of dragging mine,.

I've been boating there for years.

You could probably explore the Fish Creek-Sister Bay area without too much
trouble, but anything more than that, I would be skeptical.

I'd be cautious running out to somewhere like Chambers Island, as well.
