My brother was washed overboard by a 12ft wave during a bad storm in
the Med in Jan. whilst crewing a yacht for a delivery to Malta. He
has never been found. The yacht was registered in the U.S but insured
in France. As crew should he be covered under the boat owners
insurance? If not perhaps others out there who crew yachts for
delivery might take the time to look into insurance for themselves...

Sorry for your tragic loss.
A good friend of mine used to do a lot of deliveries and sometimes paid his
brother to help out.
I'll send him an e-mail to see what he knows.

Don

Thanks for any information you might be able to find out. It is very
frustrating not knowing the yacht delivery system and its requirements
relating to insurance and the boat owners obligations to crew.
Information from the Aust. & French Embassy's is incredibly slow.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
