Post subject: Crescent 50hp Outboard
Archived from groups: uk>rec>boats>motor (more info?)

I bought a Crescent 50hp Outboard recently that had only done 250
hours. It had been used as a second back up outboard on a Fishing
vessel in South Wales. The Outboard only cost me fifty quid and is in
really good condition and I thought it must be a real bargain. I think
the same engine was renamed Archimedes Penta but I haven't been able to
find any info on it.

The buyer said the outboard dates back to the 1970's and the
manufacturer was in Sweden.

I didn't get the Remotes with it and the wiring loom ends in bare
wires, no kill switches, no fuel tank or ignition switch. I'm looking
for these items too.

Does anyone have any Manuals or Information on the Crescent Outboards
or any spares for this outboard. I have been actively looking for
remotes for it on eBay and have come across some crescent Spares. If
anyone wants details of what I can find then plse email me.

If anyone has had a Crescent Outboard, perhaps still running one and
has found a source for spares I'd like to hear from you. Thank you.

I believe Archimedes-Penta was also Volvo-Penta. Still some old Volvo
outboard spares about in Volvo dealers. Try there as a first attempt.
