Thanks for this Pat. I've recently received a 1957 Pricecraft from my
Father as he was no longer using it and was thinking about taking the
photos and doing the paperwork to get a single vessle plate for it. I
had previously contacted Princecraft for a plate and they wrote me
back to say a plate was not available through them and I'd have to go
the Single Vessle / Transport Canada route.

Now I don't have to bother.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! or Happy Holidays! if you
prefer.

Hmmm... I just went to the Office of Boating Safety website and they
don't mention any changes. Where did you get your info from? Also, it
appears that the change only applies to homebuilts ("boats not
serially made")

Office of Boating Safety
http://www.tc.gc.ca/BoatingSafety/news/discont-single-vessel-label-prgm.htm
(google "Canadian Single Vessel Label Program" fastest way to find
it.) The original news came via email from a boater who was importing
a boat. It appears to apply to boats not built with all the
compliance plates and stickers I get there are thousands of boats
this affects in Canada, even if most boat owners aren't aware it was
required and now it's not.

I only included a link to Office of boating safety website. I don't
link to government pages any more as they tend to disappear suddenly.
(Trivia: Some years ago federal departments abandoned entire domains
and someone emailed me to report one was now a porn site!)
