Ft. Bragg, CA. Salmon season has opened up north, and the rockfish is
closed locally. Partner is in Sacramento and says is nice weather. Raining
here, so killing some time until it stops. Load the boat in dryness is
good. About a 5 hour tow north of me. If ocean gets sloppy, will do some
bass fishing at Clear Lake.

Our rockfish are the rockcod genus Sabastes (sp). We call your rockfish
stripers (well, some also write them strippers). And we get them up the
rivers now, and by June, they will be on the coastal beaches. I used to
surf fish for them off the SF beach by the zoo when I went to college. SF
state university is only a short distance from the beach.
