Hi Andrea
Nice Story.
As i'm originaly from Medan Sumatra and have just spend this summer in
Indonesia on my 7 weeks trip in Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. Your story
makes me feel bad for missing the Asahan Whitewater Festival.
I am glad that you have great time there.
Incidentally Asahan river mean Sharpening or Polishing as in Indonesian Batu
Asahan means (Batu = Stone , Asahan = Sharpening or Polishing ) Sharpening
stone. I guess you kind of guess how the Local come with that name :^)

Hopefully one of this year I'll go back and do a Touring Kayaking on Lake Toba
..(The largest Crater lake in the world which also have an island in the middle
of th crater lake that is the largest of Crater lake's island. )
