Hi to all.

We are totally new to boating having just bought an early 1950s wooden
18' motor boat that needs a little bit of work but not much.
I have no idea of the make of boat but it is made with marine ply and
has a fairly flat bottom and a cabin with sink and seats that can be
converted to a bed.
It came with a Suzuki DT16 engine (serial number starting with 1601) in
working order but I have no idea of the mixture ratio. I think the
engine is an early 1980s model but I'm not sure. It needs the nut and
washers that hold the prop onto the shaft and I have emailed a couple
of repair centres but have yet to receive a reply.. Help please!.
Does anybody know what sort of engine was common for this type of boat?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and also if anybody could
recommend an on-line chandler where I can find the bits and bobs to
refit her to her original glory.

I agree with Aussie, I thought it looked very Dolphin-like. These were high
class boats in their day and if yours is in good condition it is worth
looking after. There was also a 24ft model. They were built by Brooklands
Aviation at the famous race-track who closed in the seventies after building
a few GRP 24s.
