Hi-- my wife and I will be in Lake Placid over Columbus Weekend and plan on
bringing our two Pungoes. We're looking for a good suggestion of paddling
sites: scenic, good selection of wildlife, easy dry launch, no long carry.
Thanks in advance.

I was up there a few weeks ago- put in to the juncture of First Pond and
Second Pond, an arm of Little Saranac lake. Flow is from first to second,
but very slow in the wide parts. Good launch site right off highway 9
between the villages of Saranc Lake and Tupper Lake.

Hi--I agree, this would be a nice paddle in kayaks. It will be easier to
find if you look for the launch site on Rt. *3* and the *Lower* Saranac
Lake.
