I don't see any replies to this, and you have probably already gotten
your cylinder bored, but pwctoday.com is down today and I need to get
my jetski net fix somewhere, so I thought I'd read and reply to a few
RSJ posts....
I have never had to remove the studs from a cylinder to get it bored.
Bring the pistons to the shop that is doing the boring - they will
need them.
As I understand it, you should ask them for .004-.005 of clearance
between the piston and cylinder (and slightly more if using wiseco
pistons, I think).
Ask if the shop is going to chamfer the ports. If not, you will have
to do it, or bring it to a local jetski shop and get them to do it.
Use Threebond 1211 (or Yamabond 4) on the gaskets. A very thin coat
is all you need.. tap some on with your finger, then wipe off the
excess so there is a thin white film. Personally I do that to the
metal and to the gasket (both sides), but I suppose only one surface
absolutely needs it.
