In about 1958 my dad built the first personal watercraft in the state of
Wisconsin (I think). He got the plans, as he remembers it, from Popular
Mechanics. This craft was built out of two 4'x8' pieces of plywood
sandwiched together on a 8" thick frame. There was a motor notch at the rear
and a driver upright in about the center. This flat-bottom rig was steered
by stepping to one-side or the other from the center driver upright and
leaning in that direction. If I had a photo I'd post it. If you have ANY
idea of what I am trying describe and have and idea about how I might go
about finding plans I'd appriecate your input. I'd really like to build one
of these watercraft.

The "Pedal Cat", by William D. Jackson. Craft Print Project No. 221,
from the 1958 "Boat Builder's Handbook".

Thanks to Tom G and axolotl for the hint and link to svenson.com. The zipper
is the closest to the design that I am looking for but not exactly it. The
zipper is more complex than the design I am looking for. I have bookmarked
svenson.com in case I can find the exact design I am looking for.
